Me Birthday! ~ Anzac Day

Guess what it's my birthday today! I haven't felt excited for my birthday in years!

Last night I went shopping with my bf and he got me a woolie mushroomie kinda hat! And when I came back home, my best friend was over and gave me my present. It was a Swarovski butterfly pendant....looks really pretty and sparkly! HEHE! I'm soooo spoilt.

And.....when my dad came home....he brought back my other best friend's present for me! Wow! It was soooo big! A puzzle and a journal! HAHAHA......she sure knows what to get for me! Thanks soooo much!

Then really early in the morning-meaning at 5.11am- my french friend sent me an sms! OMG it was really long! HAHAHA....and very sweet! Thank you soooo much if you're reading this, my dear friend!

Then a few hours later I recieved sms's from my cousin in Canberra and then one from my niece....don't like to call her that but, in asian culture that's what it is-but it's basically my second cousin.

In the morning my aunt came over and she gave me a woolie dress. White and pure!
Sorry it's just like an account of what has been happening....but that's what it feels like....
So after she arrived...btw she's still here....I went to pick up my 10-inch cake~a strawberry duo! MMMmmm it smells sooo nice and it looks really good too! Anyways...now that I hopped onto msn, I see that my french friend also sent me offline messages....waaaaaa! Again soooo sweet! I wanna post it here to remember it but.....due to privacy reasons I won't! heheh!

Anyways.....gotta go and have lunch now! Will post again later on cause I'm gonna go out for dinner tonight.

Heya! Me back! Well hopefully!

OMG....how long has it been? I'm probably the most laziest person in the world! But then again I've been so busy with handing in a load of assignments that I just haven't had the time to do other stuff. What about now? Well....I'm on mid semester break and I'm just bumming around at home....nothing to do. So I hope this will start me posting regularly again!

During the first half of semester one I've caught up with some high school friends....and....omg finally found Maki! She's still in Melbourne and now studying fine arts. She looks like she's enjoying it here, so all good! I also met up with Shiju....wow, she looks sooo different, really grown up! Oh yea there's also Janet, Cassie and Kim. We met again at Kim's 21st. Spent most of the time with Janet and her current bf - John....hahah...I think Cassie and Kim still don't know...but yea, Janet wants to keep it as a secret! So hope they don't read this.....hahahah!
Another special person I caught up with is Soline!!! Omg! She's sooo pretty now! And guess what? She's going out with mama mien! (long distance relationship) Hope it works out well between them! Yea, and Soline's studying medicine right now...sounds like she's enjoying it! Well once she's finished she's gonna be my doctor...well one where you can ask for advice.

Also, it's almost my birthday! I'm turning 20...an adult....waaaaaa.....don't like that number it sounds old! Anyways, I'm treating myself to a Yukata workshop at Animania and I've already ordered a birthday cake for myself! It's a 10-inch square Strawberry Duo from a store called Niko's Quality Cakes in Oakleigh! Yummy! Hope it isn't too sweet, it seems my family doesn't like these sweet stuff very much!

It's fujiko's birthday soon after mine, so I ordered her the latest YUI limited edition album and it arrived yesterday, hehe. Also, it seems the P plate system in Victoria also involves people who are already in the old system. Just found out from my cousin...she seems excited! Cause we will have to carry the green P plates after July...and that's her favourite colour, along with her soon to be Mazda2 Green car.

Hmmm.....what else have I been doing.....?
Oh yea! Been playing FFXII, near the end...but can't go any further cause I always have to wait for fujiko, so that we can both see all the scenes and follow the storyline!

I think that's about it.....except for the stuff about my bf....but....that's totally my private life! BAH!

NaNa..nanananana...nana---------Katamari!!!

I got my hands on the ever sooo rare ps2 game We Love Katamari from ebay! Guess it isn't soo rare overseas. Anyways, it's the best game.....well the most addicting game I've played! (just like what other people have said) but it's the music which i like the most!

At first when I decided to buy it fujiko thought I was nuts and told me the game is just weird and boring....cause you just roll things up....but after playing it she's now addicted to it like how I have.....hehe also same with my mum!

Right now we're up to rolling a 3 meter katamari in 10 mins.....but it's kinda hard....we still haven't gotten used to the controls and rolling as fast as we can.....so it's gonna take some time before we become more experienced.

Shit....my english is getting really bad! Please mind the bad language....hehe..

Got to 2nd stage Interview!!!

YAY! Just a week ago I posted about going to my first IBL interview, well....I got to stage 2 which is the last one!!! YAY!

I think this time it will be a panel interview with all the directors (three of them, I already met one) and the practice manager.....kinda scary, but at least I already know two of them and both of them are very friendly! I can't wait!!!

This time, the interview is going to be at 3pm next Thursday which is October the 11th. They asked me to come tomorrow, but I had plans to meet up with my group to do our assignment.

Anyways, I wonder what type of interview it will be this time...kinda interesting what types of questions they asked last time, compared to what I expected. I will make sure that this time I research as much as I can about Financial Planning, read their websites and handouts they gave me and practice interview questions.

Oh yea...do you think I should wear a different shirt to last time?... I also hope that next week when I meet them I will be my true self with a big smile and not shaking like a mouse! *laughs* Did I tell you in the last post that they noticed I was really nervous and shaking? They were really nice about that!

Well...WISH ME LUCK!!!

I went to my first IBL interview!

OMG....I'm still really nervous after that interview and I've got to work at Target soon. Btw today is gonna be my first day working at Target.

Anyways about the interview, they could see that I was nervous and they asked me skills and ability questions. Also it is very different to the other retail interviews I've been to!

And...I've sent the two interviewers a Thank-you letter but I stuffed up one of them. You know about the signatures in an email...I forgot to take it off! ARRRRHHH

Anyways, here's a tip that I think works well in an interview.
When it's your question time, ask them what they enjoy most in their work....if you know what I mean...???...
Cause when I asked them that question they were kinda surprised in a good way...maybe the word is impressed. One of the interviewer told me that it was a good question and they've never been asked that! YAY!

I've been thinking....

I've been thinking...

Maybe I should really take up an extra-curriculum activity....well the only reason I should take up one is to improve my resume and find a good IBL position. (so sad)

Btw, IBL is short for Industry Based Learning. It's a year of work experience and no uni. I'm hoping AND hoping, to get into a financial planning firm or maybe a bank....or a really famous big company!

Oh wells, wonder what I should do....dancing? badminton? 'igo'? ice skating? yoga? flower arranging?...hmmm any suggestions?

Is studying a course to become a make-up artist considered extra-curriculum?? Yes, I want to do that! I have so many things I want to do! For example, I want to know how to cook yummy stuff like my mum or know how to sew really well like my mum so that I can make my own clothes, like dresses. I love dresses! My favourite piece of clothing! And guess what? It's almost summer...well spring right now! But dress shopping for me! YAY! But I need money right now....luckily I just got a job at Target, so I'm just waiting till the end of this month to start!

I'm sooo excited! This Target is a new store which is replacing the very old K-mart at Forest Hill Shopping Centre. And I think, from my induction that I'm gonna be working at the registers! The manager said that we've got this whole new system and she's still figuring out how it works! *laughs*
Some people have already started their training but I'm in the group that starts training when we go live, so it'll be one busy day to start training. Plus, I'll have to learn how to balance uni and work! haha, that's kinda new to me! Haven't really worked before...apart from working at my uncle's fish n chips every Saturday.

Well it's late now, so I'm gonna go have my shower and go to bed!
Goodnite people!

I think it's become a world wide news! I've been following the news and it was the first news which appeared at 6pm on channel 7.

LOL I wonder if they are gonna continue the show....since they just started the new series recently!

Oh well...
Some links to check out!

http://youtube.com/watch?v=i-DDWGKqGmI

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/09/07/2026920.htm

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6982897.stm

http://youtube.com/watch?v=V-sGlKtI3k4

Urgh....You know what, I hate Centrelink soo much! But I want to get my Health Care Card! Want to get cheap medicine! It's probably been a year and a bit since I decided to get a Health Care Card...but I've only got the form about 2 weeks ago and being as lazy as I am, I called them up to send it to me....Still, I haven't returned the form yet....too lazy to get my bank statements and ALSO 'wait in line' for at least an hour to just hand in my form! I hate doing that....I did it once last year for 'Youth Allowance' but in the end I wasted 2 or 3 months for a 'no' you can't get Youth Allowance! Now it's almost easter....Oh well....I know I'll eventually get it....might take me another month to hand the form in...

Another site for when you're bored

Omg! This week was crazy! I don't know how I survived it, but here I am! I kinda had three assignments and a test all crammed into this week! Phew!

Anyways, wanted to show another cool site to whoever's reading this....probably fifiwoofwoof LOL! Well a while back...probably a month or two ago.....I found this site which was kinda weird....it's like the fake fishies you would see on tv late at night with music repeating itself. But there's nothing moving, no music, but only time and your imagination when looking at a piece of cheese going mouldy broadcasted live from a webcam in a cheese factory and getting fascinated by it.

Cheddar Vision

Need to Update! LOL

Wow, I've already had uni for 3 weeks and omg it feels like a month! Can't believe 2nd year subjects can just speed up sooo much compared to 1st year's! I've already had 2 assignments and now a test is coming up next week and two more following that! But it's good enough cause by the end of this semester there'll be one less exam for me. YAY!

I can say, it's half-half on the subjects I like and dislike. I'm enjoying design and measurement 2 (it's a cool name for a subject, but it's just stats!) and macroeconomics(Sophie, was right! Macro is soo much more interesting than micro!). I hate (maybe that's a bit strong in meaning) management accounting, it's a bit boring and lots of reading. As for survey research methods, it's alright but we have to really be on top of things or else we're stuffed! Oh, btw....hope any of you who are reading this will help me answer a questionnaire/survey in the near future. It feels kinda impossible to have at least 60 surveys completed for my research, so it would be nice if any of you would be willing to complete a survey for me.

Well I'll stop here, just trying to update and give myself a break before going off to study again.

Alex Fong

These past few months I've been watching alot of honkie cable tv and from that I've found an interesting singer. His name is Alex Fong or 方力申. I started noticing him when there was this cooking show on called 'Beautiful Cooking' or 美女廚房. It's a show to make fun of the actresses' cooking. He was one of their main judges and host and I thought he looked like Nagayama, a japanese actor.....but Angela doesn't think so. *laughs* Oh well...
Anyways, later on I found out that he was originally a professional swimmer from my mum. Then through a few browsing in Hong Kong's music websites I found out that he was a singer. So I went searching for his music and found out that I actually have one of his songs. *laughs* But in the end I got his Album 在你遙遠的附近, somehow the person I downloaded it from translates it as 'Close By' and wikipedia translate it as 'In Your Distant Vicinity'. I love his songs so much, it sounds really nice. I've uploaded the first song in this album here --> http://www.box.net/public/osiqk295lk

Btw...after going through a few japanese blogs, I decided that my layout was boring and ugly and I had to change it. Now my layout is soooo cute!!!!! A ducky and prettiness!

Quynh's Wedding Date

I just found out Quyhn's wedding date! It's on the 2nd of June and guess what! It's a SATURDAY!!!! YAY!!! I hate it when they have weddings on a Sunday....it means that I can't stay for very long, although we did for Minh's wedding. I heard that they're gonna have the wedding banquet in a restaurant....restaurant unknown, they've checked out a few, some are very dear....for example there's this one which only gives you just enough to eat and supplies soft drinks and water. For wine, they say that you have to buy their wine or if you 'bring your own' it costs you $10 for them to open it!!!!! CRAZY I THINK!!!! But from what I heard, that place is supposed to look grand and everthing sparkly and big...big chairs fit for a king and there's always a pianst there.
Oh btw it feels like I'm just giving updates in this post! *laughs* She hasn't found a night gown(??) / dress....and today she got her wedding shoes and I saw them...they look kinda chunky/thick but when she puts them on it looks sooo delicate and pretty!!!

Saturday afternoon....

I really still don't have anything interesting to write...oh well.
I'm watching my commercail law lecture right now....kinda bored but I need to. That's my first exam and it's creeping up on me.....in my head I'm thinking 'need to study, need to study' but I feel like I'm only putting in half the effort and slacking off....I hate that feeling! Anyways, lucky the other exams won't be as hard as commercial law. *I hope*
As for my other exams, they're supposed to be easy.....but I still don't think Information Systems is easy....I hate the exams where we have to remember a whole lot of information and regurgitate it all out on paper.
I know I'll do alright in Statistics and as for Learning & Communication Behaviour, the exam question is seen so I just have to prepare the essay at home and rewrite it in the exam room.
Anyways, goodluck to all those who are completing yr 12 this year!

I don't know what to write or put in my lj....but I'll soon find something interesting....it's been all work and uni for me these days and since I haven't posted in a while I've decided to stick some riddles I found from http://www.didyouknow.cd/riddles/riddles.htm

1. What runs all around the yard without moving?
2. What is broken when you name it?
3. What is it that someone else has to take before you can get it?
4. What is one thing that all wise men, regardless of their politics or religion, agree is between heaven and earth?
5. Where is the only place that yesterday always follow today?
6. There is a town where a quarter of all the people living have unlisted phone numbers. If you select 100 names at random from the town's phone book, on average how many of these people would have unlisted phone numbers?

Answers are:

1. The fence
2. Silence
3. Your photo
4. The word "AND"
5. In a dictionary
6. None - because phone book have only listed numbers

Brain quiz

Taken from http://marcyfrommaui.powerfulintentions.com/forum/jokesfunstuff/message-view/3930223

I found it kinda easy....done these questions before.....apart from the last one!

1. What do you put in a toaster?

Answer: bread. If you said toast, give up now and go do something else. Try not to hurt yourself. If you said, bread, go to question 2.

2. Say "silk" five times. Now spell "silk." What do cows drink?

Answer: Cows drink water. If you said milk, don't attempt the next question. Your brain is over-stressed and may even overheat. Content yourself with reading a more appropriate literature such as Auto World. However, if you said water , proceed to question 3.

3. If a red house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks, what is a green house made from?

Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass. If you said green bricks, why are you still reading these??? If you said glass, go on to Question 4.

4. It's twenty years ago, and a plane is flying at 20,000 feet over Germany (If you will recall, Germany at the time was politically divided into West Germany and East Germany.) Anyway, during the flight, TWO engines fail. The pilot, realizing that the last remaining engine is also failing, decides on a crash landing procedure. Unfortunately the engine fails before he can do so and the plane fatally crashes smack-dab in the middle of "no man's land" between East Germany and West Germany. "Where would you bury the survivors? East Germany, West Germany, or no man's land"?

Answer: You don't bury survivors. If you said ANYTHING else, you're a dunce and you must stop NOW! If you said, You don't bury survivors , proceed to the next question.

5. Without using a calculator - You are driving a bus from London to Milford Haven in Wales... In London, 17 people get on the bus; In Reading, six people get off the bus and nine people get on... In Swindon, two people get off and four get on... In Cardiff , 11 people get off and 16 people get on... In Swansea, three people get off and five people get on... In Carmathen, six people get off and three get on... You then arrive at Milford Haven. What was the name of the bus driver?

Answer: Oh, for crying out loud! Don't you remember your own name? It was YOU!!
